20 ways to know you're becoming more canadian (vancouverish?)

1. it's 12c outside and you go: "it's so HOT today!!"

2. you seem to know more about harper than abdullah badawi.

3. you say "fall" instead of "autumn".

4. you find buying thick, puffy jackets really exciting and worth the money. and you own three or more of these jackets.

5. you own at least two umbrellas. and you have broken at least one umbrella in the past. not intentionally, though. well--the wind broke it.

6. when there's a public holiday, you make a huge fuss out of it because EVERYONE else makes a HUGE fuss out of it.... because canada has close to none compared to malaysia.

7. you're half as excited to see cars like ferraris, lamborghinis, and porsches.

8. you suddenly know the names of legendary ice hockey players such as wayne gretzky although you don't know the rules of ice hockey, and you don't know what makes these players so great in the first place.

9. you start feeling privileged to be older than 19 because here, they REALLY do check your IDs when you attempt to: get into a club, or buy booze.

10. you start calling people more often and using sms less often.

11. aritzia has substituted guess in your list of "must-get-from" stores.

12. you own at least three scarves and a pair of gloves.

13. you are used to seeing homeless people everywhere.

14. you love the sun.

15. you wear heels about as often as you'd wear tube tops in winter.

16. you own an mp3 player, and use it every day when you commute.

17. you start to think less highly of the USA. (i wonder why? or maybe it's just me)

18. you despise falling sick 29876x more because doctors here DO NOT give medicine... not unless you're really half dying.

19. you have a fireplace in your house.

20. you start defending canada when people put canada down, or claim that place X, Y, or Z is better than it is here.
